CBSE Will Not Award Division, Distinction to Students, Will have No Toppers’ List

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided not to award any division, distinction to students appearing the class 10, 12 board exams.

Since 2022, the CBSE has decided not to issue any merit list of students while declaring the results for class 10, 12 board exams. This year also the board will not announce any toppers for class 10, 12.

The decision to not to announce the CBSE toppers list and merit list is to eradicate the unhealthy competition among the students, the board said in the CBSE result statement.

The officials release regarding this also added that the best five subjects for calculating marks of the students will rest solely with the admitting college.

The release said, “If a candidate has offered more  than five subjects, the decision to determine the best five subjects may be taken by the admitting institution or employer. Further, it is informed that the Board does not calculate/declare/ inform percentage of marks.  If the percentage of marks is required for higher  education or in employment the calculation if any, may be done by admitting institution or employer.”

CBSE will conduct the exams for the students of class 10 and 12 from February 15.
