Phulera of ‘Panchayat’ Series is Fictional, But There is A Real Phulera in Rajasthan

Mumbai: Although the village of Phulera in the famous “Panchayat” series is fictional, there exists a real Phulera in Rajasthan.

The real Phulera is in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district. It is situated near the state capital, Jaipur. It is a major railway junction. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project runs through Phulera. Moreover, Phulera is an assembly constituency within the Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha seat.

But the Phulera in the popular series “Panchayat” is portrayed as a small fictional village said to be in the Balia district of Uttar Pradesh. The series is however filmed at the Mahodiya village in Madhya Pradesh. The Mahodiya adds to the show’s charm. But the cast have to commute daily from the nearest town due to the lack of accommodations in the village.
