Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’ Set to Hit Theatres in January 2026, Shooting Begins October 2024

The highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 war epic “Border” has been officially announced with a release date set for January 23, 2026. “Border 2,” starring Sunny Deol, comes nearly three decades after its predecessor and promises to be India’s most ambitious war film to date.

Unveiled on the 27th anniversary of the original film, the announcement video featured Deol referencing his character’s pledge to return, accompanied by the iconic track “Sandese Aate Hain.”

Directed by Anurag Singh, known for “Kesari” and “Punjab 1984,” and produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar, the film is poised to commence shooting in October 2024.

Reports suggest that Ayushmann Khurrana may join the cast in a significant role, though official confirmation is pending. The production team looks committed to matching the scale and impact of the original film.
