Man Dies After Drinking 1 Litre Alcohol in 10 Minutes in Drinking Contest

Beijing: A Chinese man died after consuming a litre of strong liquor in just 10 minutes during a work-related drinking competition in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The competition was organized by the man’s boss, who offered a substantial prize to the winner.

The incident occurred during a team building dinner in July. After offering a reward to anyone who could outdrink him, the man’s boss challenged him to a drinking contest with several other employees, including his own driver.

In a shocking turn of events, the man downed the litre of liquor in just 10 minutes. He collapsed shortly after and was rushed to hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe alcohol poisoning, aspiration pneumonia, suffocation, and cardiac arrest.

Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the man tragically passed away on August 3. The company that organized the event announced its dissolution the following day.
