Militants Shoot Down Policeman Guarding Polio Team in Pakistan

Unidentified armed militants fired at a police party guarding a polio team in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Friday. A policeman was killed in this terrorist attack on the polio vaccination team.

This incident occurred in the in the Nallah Khwar region of the Khyber tribal district bordering Peshawar. A terrorist was also killed in the retaliation fire by the security forces.

Pakistan police launched a massive manhunt in the area to nab the culprits who fled after firing on the police team accompanying the polio vaccinators.

Islamic fundamentalists oppose polio vaccination. So, Polio teams are often targeted by militants in Pakistan.
