31 Killed in Bus Accident in Mali

At least 31 persons were killed and 10 others were injured when a bus fell off a bridge in Mali, a landlocked country in West Africa.

According to the transport ministry of the country, the accident occurred around 5:00 pm local time (1700 GMT) on Tuesday on a bridge over the Bagoe river.

The ill-fated bus was travelling to Burkina Faso from the southwestern Malian town of Kenieba. It is suspected that the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle, the statement added.

Road accidents occur frequently in Mali due to extremely poor conditions of roads and vehicles.
