24 Killed as Bus falls Into Gorge in Peru

At least 24 persons including children lost their lives when the bus in which they were travelling fell into a ravine in Peru’s Huancavelica region.

As per reports, this mishap occurred on Monday at around 1:30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) in the hilly region of Churcampa province.

There victims included minors. The injured were rushed to hospitals in the towns of Huancayo, Pampas and Ayacucho.

The local authorities accepted that the road where the accident occurred was in poor condition for at least a month because of an avalanche in the area.
