Complete Lockdown in Islamabad After Imran Assassination Attempt

Islamabad: A complete shutdown was imposed in Islamabad following the assassination attempt on former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday.

The authorites released a notice online on Thursday evening ordering immediate closure of all school and madrassas.

However, there will be no restrictions on essential services during the lockdown in Islamabad. Water supply, ration supply and medical services etc. will continue to be available.

After Imran was fired at, protests erupted around Pakistan which apparently triggered this lockdown, according to an authority official.

It may be noted that, an assailant shot at Imran with an AK-47 during his ‘freedom’ rally on Thursday.

One person was reportedly killed and many others were injured. The attacker was arrested by the local police.

A video has surfaced on social media showing the man who allegedly attacked Imran Khan.

In the video, the attacker is seen to be claiming that he tried to kill the former prime minister as he was misleading the people.
