“Football Fans Can Survive 3 Hours A Day without Beer”

Just 48 hours before the inaugural match Football World Cup chiefs on Friday banned beer sales around stadiums in Qatar. On Saturday, FIFA president Gianni Infantino supported this first-of-its-kind decision in FIFA World Cup History.

Speaking at a press conference in Doha, the FIFA president said World Cup fans can survive for three hours a day without beer. “I think personally if for three hours a day you cannot drink a beer, you will survive,” he said.

Alcohol is largely prohibited in the Islamic nation of Qatar. After discussions with Qatar authorities, FIFA has decided to ban the sell of beer to fans around any of the eight World Cup stadiums.

Now beer would be only sold at fan zones and licensed venues. All beer sell points are being removed from Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters.

Budweiser beer is the sponsor of this world cup. Budweiser had put up beer tents at stadiums, which are being removed ahead of the games.
