At Least 11 Killed, Several Trapped As Massive Fire Engulfs Shopping Mall in Karachi

Karachi: A devastating fire broke out in the RJ shopping mall on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi, Pakistan, on Saturday morning, claiming the lives of at least 11 people and leaving many others trapped inside the multi-storey building.

Fire tenders were rushed to the scene, rescuing approximately 50 individuals from the inferno. However, efforts continue to locate and evacuate those still stranded within the mall.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab confirmed the fatalities on social media, expressing deep sorrow for the loss of life. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, adding to the tragedy.

Injured victims are receiving medical attention at local hospitals, according to media reports.

A survivor of the incident, recounted the harrowing experience, describing the intense smoke and the desperate scramble for safety. He stated that many people remain trapped inside the mall, highlighting the urgency of the ongoing rescue operation.
