Close Aide of 26/11 Mastermind Hafiz Saeed Gunned Down in Karachi

Karachi: Mufti Qaiser Farooq, a prominent figure associated with the Pakistan-based terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot by unidentified assailants in Karachi, according to reports. The incident occurred in the Samanabad area and is believed to be a targeted attack.

Farooq, a 30-year-old founding member of LeT and close associate of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack, sustained gunshot wounds to the back and was rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

CCTV footage purportedly capturing the shooting has surfaced on social media, although its authenticity has not been confirmed by the police. Additionally, a minor boy was also injured during the attack.

The demise of Qaiser Farooq raises questions about potential ramifications within LeT’s leadership structure and its impact on the overall security landscape in the region. Law enforcement agencies will remain vigilant in monitoring the situation and responding to any potential security threats that may arise in the aftermath of this incident.
