PM Modi Participates in Bastille Day Parade, Indian Tri-Services Impresses Crowd

Paris: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Bastille Day parade in Paris as the Guest of Honour. The Indian tri-services contingent wowed crowds with their marching skills, and Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) joined the flypast along with French jets.

Modi tweeted that India is committed to making the world peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable. He also expressed gratitude to France for being a strong and trusted partner.

Macron tweeted that France is proud to welcome India as its guest of honour at the Bastille Day parade. He said that India is a giant in world history with a decisive role to play in the future.

The 269-member Indian tri-services contingent marched to the tune of “Saare jahan se achcha”. Modi saluted the contingent as it passed the dais where he and Macron were seated.

The French National Day, or Bastille Day, commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison during the French Revolution in 1789. The Bastille Day parade is the highlight of the celebrations.
