4-Day Gopalpur Beach Festival from January 25

Berhampur: Gopalpur Beach Festival at the scenic beach resort in Odisha’s Ganjam district will be held from January 25-28.

This beach festival will also include a national-level Pallishree Mela at the same venue for four days. The preparatory meeting of the beach festival was held on Wednesday.

This Pallishree Mela will showcase products of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from Odisha and outside the state. Cultural troupes from Ganjam and other districts of Odisha will perform during the four-day Gopalpur beach festival.

The Ganjam collector has directed all concerned departments and officials to make the necessary arrangements for the beach festival.

According to Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek, the entire beach festival venue and its adjoining areas will be under the vigil of CCTV cameras. Police will make arrangements for parking, crowd management and the stage for the smooth conduct of the festival. As per the SP, if needed security personnel will be mobilised from other districts to manage the crowd at the Gopalpur beach festival.
