Don’t Put Colours On Animals; Have A Cruelty-Free Holi

New Delhi: Holi is right around the corner and the festive spirit will run high amongst many who are ready to reveal in the burst of colour. However, Holi can be a traumatic experience for animals who don’t enjoy being coloured. Putting colours on animals not only scares them but also can pose a risk of skin infections due to continuous itching and rubbing of their skin.

As per experts, maggots can also happen to any animal and once they develop skin allergies from colours or any wounds, a female fly lays its eggs on it which multiplies very fastly, creating a lump with a breathing hole on the surface of the skin as they grow. Inhalation of colour powder may cause nasal irritation and possibly respiratory allergy or infection.

Pet parents also need to know that most dogs get paranoid when you rub colours on them, since it very often gets into their eyes and nose, making them very uncomfortable.
