Gujarat Woman Seeks Rs 50 Lakh Compensation for Receiving Chicken Sandwich In place of Paneer

Ahmedabad: A woman named Nirali of Ahmedabad in Gujarat received a chicken sandwich from a restaurant after ordering a paneer sandwich through a food delivery app.

Nirali, a vegetarian, ordered her veg sandwich from ‘Pick Up Meals by Terra’ on May 3. After having a few bites she found that it was chicken sandwich, according to a report by India Today.

The woman filed a complaint against the restaurant with the Deputy Health Officer of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation demanding Rs 50 lakh compensation.

But the food department slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the restaurant. Nirali feels this fine is too small. She has decided to approach the consumer court demanding Rs 50 lakh compensation.

Nirali told India Today that she is doing this for the youth who experience similar incidents but are unaware of their rights.
