Over 50 Injured in Bee Attack on Funeral Procession in Lucknow

Lucknow: Over 50 persons were injured when a colony of bees attacked a funeral procession in Mohanlalganj, on the outskirts of Lucknow on Wednesday evening.

Following the bee attack, the people in the procession ran to save themselves leaving the corpse on the road.

According to reports, this bee attack incident occurred while the body of one Molhe, 80, was being taken for cremation.

The funeral procession on its way to the cremation site passed under a fig tree and a beehive on the tree broke triggering the bee attack.

About 50 people were taken to the local community health centre where they were given first aid and later discharged.

The locals set a stack of hay on fire to drive away the bees to enable the cremation to take place.
