3.5% of Youth Suffer from Gaming Addiction: Lok Sabha MP Calls for Stricter Regulations

New Delhi: Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde raised alarms on Friday about the growing addiction to gaming applications, some of which include betting features.

Speaking during the Zero Hour, Shinde highlighted that 3.5% of adolescents suffer from gaming disorder, which has led to financial difficulties for many families.

Shinde specifically pointed to online games like Junglee Rummy, noting their significant market share in the projected $30 billion online gaming industry by 2025.

He stressed the need for increased awareness and stringent regulations to address the adverse effects of gaming addiction on youth and society.
