6 Dead After Car Collides With Truck In Tamil Nadu

Tenkasi (Tamil Nadu): In a devastating road accident in southern Tamil Nadu, a fatal head-on collision between a car and a cement-laden truck took the lives of at least six individuals early on Sunday. The victims, identified as Karthik, Vel Manoj, Subramani, Manoharan, and Pothiraj, were returning from a weekend trip to Kutralam.

The accident occurred around 3:30 am when the car’s driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the collision with the truck destined for Kerala. Five passengers in the car lost their lives instantly, while one person succumbed to injuries during transportation to the hospital.

Emergency services, including the police and Fire and Rescue teams, swiftly responded to the scene, managing to recover the bodies within 30 minutes. The deceased were then transported to the Tirunelveli government hospital for autopsy. Authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This unfortunate event follows another mishap on January 24, where four individuals lost their lives, and eight sustained injuries in an accident on Thoppur Ghat Road in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district. CCTV footage captured the alarming sequence of events, revealing a speeding truck colliding with another truck.
