Address Update in Aadhaar Made Easier By UIDAI

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has established a resident-friendly tool to assist people in updating their addresses online in their Aadhaar with the consent of the Head of the Family (HoF). The relatives of a resident who don’t have supporting documentation in their own name to update the address in their Aadhaar will benefit greatly from this HoF-based online address update in Aadhaar.

Proof of relationship documents, such as a ration card, mark sheet, marriage certificate, or passport, must be submitted for the update and must include the applicant’s name and the relationship to the HOF. The resident may submit a self-declaration by the HOF in the required format of the Proof of Relationship document is not readily available, according to UIDAI.

This option would be in addition to the ability to update an address using any legitimate Proof of Address document that UIDAI has approved. Any resident who is at least 18 years old can use this designation and share their address with their family members.
