Ankita Bhandari Was Not Raped, Died Due To Drowning: Post-Mortem Report

Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s teenager Ankita Bhandari’s death has become the most talked about topic in the country triggering massive outrage online and offline.

Meanwhile, probing officials told media persons that the 19-age-old receptionist of a resort owned by a BJP leader’s son in Rishikesh, died due to drowning and there is no evidence of rape has been found in the post-mortem exam.

However, injury marks were found on Ankita’s fingers, hands, and back, they further said.

It is pertinent to be mentioned that Bhandari was found dead by the police six days after she was reported missing. Her body was fished out of Cheela canal, near Rishikesh, and it was revealed that she was pressured by Pulkit Arya and others to provide “special service” to clients at the resort.

Earlier, her family had refused to conduct her last rites until the final autopsy details are in. Her preliminary report said she died due to drowning.

The BJP has already suspended its leader Vinod Arya, whose son Pulkit is the owner of the resort where Ankita worked. Pulkit and two others have been arrested by the police in connection with the case.
