Apple CEO Tim Cook Opens India’s First Apple Store At Mumbai’s Jio World Drive Mall

Mumbai: Apple CEO Tim Cook opened the Apple BKC store for the general public on April 18 at 11 am. The store is situated in Mukesh Ambani-owned Jio World Drive Mall located in the Bandra Kurla Complex.

It was unveiled by Apple CEO Tim Cook who is on an India visit. The launch comes as Apple celebrates more than 25 years in India.

Reportedly, the two-storey Mumbai store is inspired by the iconic kaali-peeli taxis which have been a regular feature on the city road.

Notably, Apple’s first retail store in the country has been a subject of great interest since at least 2019, when Indian policymakers warmed up to the idea of welcoming foreign direct investment in single-brand retail.
