At Least 8 Dead, 15 Injured As Speeding Truck Rams Into Van in UP’s Moradabad

Moradabad (UP): Tragedy struck on Sunday as a speeding truck collided with a pickup van on the Dalpatpur-Kashipur highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, resulting in the death of at least eight people, including a child, and leaving over a dozen injured. The accident occurred near Khairkhata village on the Dalpatpur road, under the jurisdiction of the Bhagatpur police station area.

The truck was travelling at high speed when it crashed into the pickup van, which was carrying a family to attend a wedding. Witnesses reported that the impact of the collision was so severe that the truck overturned on top of the van, causing extensive damage.

Local authorities, including the SSP and other officials, were alerted to the accident and immediately rushed to the scene to oversee rescue operations. However, many passengers in the van were trapped beneath the wreckage and had to be extricated with great difficulty.

Fifteen people sustained injuries in the incident, including occupants of both vehicles. They were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

Police and local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident and conducting a post-mortem of the deceased. It is crucial for drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations, particularly on highways where high speeds increase the risk of accidents.
