BJP Retains Tripura, Wins 30 Seats

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has won 30 Assembly seats, taking the alliance tally to 31.

The saffron party is still leading in two seats, which could take its overall tally to 33 in the 60-member assembly.

Meanwhile, Congress has won three seats in the Tripura Assembly elections– Agartala, Banamalipur and Kailashahar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked the people of Tripura for bestowing their trust in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that this is a vote for progress and stability.

CPM-Congress alliance has won 11 seats with CPM winning 9 and leading 2 while, Congress bagging 2 seats and leading in 1.

Tipra Motha has taken 12 seats and is leading in one. Chief Minister and BJP candidate Dr. Manik Saha has been declared victorious from the Town Bardowali constituency with 49.77 percent vote share.
