CBI Arrests Assistant Director of ED in Bribery Case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an assistant director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a bribery case.

The ED officer identified as Sandeep Singh Yadav was arrested in Delhi for accepting bribes of ₹ 20 lakh from a jeweller in lieu of giving relief to the jeweller’s son in the case registered in ED.

In August 2023, an Assistant Director of ED was arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking bribes amounting to Rs 5 crore from businessman Amandeep Singh Dhall, an accused in the Delhi excise policy case.

Pawan Khatri, who worked as an Assistant Director in the ED, was one of the two officials against whom the CBI had filed a complaint over the bribery charges.
