DGCA Suspends Air India’s Boeing Simulator Training Facility

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has temporarily suspended Air India’s Boeing simulator training facility due to alleged lapses in safety audit reporting.

The DGCA is currently reviewing pertinent documents and will decide on reinstating the training facility once the verification process concludes.

The suspension follows a recent inspection by a two-member DGCA team, which reportedly discovered deficiencies in Air India’s internal safety audit reporting. This prompted the DGCA to initiate an investigation.

Air India is obligated to conduct regular safety checks across multiple operational areas. However, during a random inspection of 13 safety points, the DGCA team allegedly uncovered fabricated reports for all 13 instances.

The DGCA will decide on reinstating the training facility once the verification process is complete.
