Girl Dies After Car Drags Her For Kilometres In Delhi; Accused Nabbed

New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman died after she was allegedly dragged by a car for around four kilometres in Delhi on early Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, five persons have been arrested by Delhi police.

The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26) and Manoj Mittal (27).

Police seized the car and also took the samples of the men to check if they were in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.

According to police, the woman was dragged by a car for around four kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi after the scooter she was riding collided with the vehicle.

The incident came to the fore after the Kanjhawal police in Rohini district received a call around 3:30 am on Sunday in which the caller said that a grey Baleno car going towards Qutubgarh was dragging along a body of a woman.

Around 4 am, the Kanjhawala police received another call which said the woman’s naked body was lying on the road. The crime team reached the spot.

The forensics team was also called in to collect samples and exhibits from the crime scene. The body was sent to SGM Hospital in Mangolpuri.

The Delhi Police traced the car and launched an investigation. They traced the owner of the car and have arrested five people.

During interrogation, the five men revealed that they were travelling in the car when the vehicle collided with the woman’s scooter in the jurisdiction of Sultanpuri police station.

Following the accident, the car dragged the girl from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala area for about four kilometers, in which the woman’s clothes got torn and she sustained grievous injuries, that eventually led to her death.

Further investigations are underway.
