Case Against Mayawati’s Nephew Over Inflammatory Speech

Lucknow: UP police have registered an FIR against BSP’s national coordinator Akash Anand for allegedly giving inflammatory speeches during a public meeting in Sitapur. Cases have also been lodged against three Lok Sabha candidates of the BSP and 30 others.

Anand is the nephew of the BSP supremo Mayawati. She is said to be her political heir.

According to police, Anand took part in a political rally of the BSP at Raja College ground here on Sunday. His speech in the public meeting was allegedly in violation of the model code of conduct.

Apart from Anand, a case has also been registered under relevant sections against Sitapur district president of the BSP, Vikas Rajvanshi, BSP candidate from Lakhimpur seat Anshay Kalra, Dhaurahara candidate Shyamkishore Awasthi, and the BSP candidate Mahendra Singh Yadav from Sitapur seat. Another case has been registered against 30 other unidentified persons on the basis of a video, police sources said.
