PM Modi Unveils India’s Blue Economy Vision at Global Maritime Summit 2023

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third edition of the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 on October 17, 2023, via video conferencing. He also unveiled ‘Amrit Kaal Vision 2047’, a blueprint for the Indian maritime blue economy.

In his address, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the maritime sector in the post-COVID world. He said that the world is looking towards India with new aspirations and that India’s economy is constantly strengthening. He also emphasized the need for a reliable global supply chain.

PM Modi listed the steps taken by the government to strengthen the maritime sector in recent years. He also spoke about the transformative impact of the proposed India-Middle East Europe Economic Corridor, which he said will transform the picture of global trade.

PM Modi also reiterated the government’s vision of ‘Ports for Prosperity and Ports for Progress’. He said that the government is taking major steps to enhance economic productivity by making the logistics sector more efficient and effective. He also informed that the government is modernizing coastal shipping modes and developing inland waterways.
