69th National Film Awards: Alia Bhatt, Allu Arjun Win Big in Glitzy New Delhi Event

New Delhi: The 69th National Film Awards ceremony took place at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan, with President Droupadi Murmu presenting the awards. The winners, announced in August, included Allu Arjun for Best Actor, and Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon sharing the Best Actress award. Several films, including “RRR,” “Sardar Udham,” “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” and “The Kashmir Files,” received multiple awards, with “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” winning Best Feature Film. The Dada Saheb Phalke Award was bestowed upon legendary actress Waheeda Rehman.

Alia Bhatt graced the event in her Sabyasachi wedding saree, with flowers in her hair, accompanied by her husband Ranbir Kapoor. She expressed her gratitude for the award and called it a “pinch me moment.” Kriti Sanon, who shared the Best Actress prize with Alia for her role in “Mimi,” also wore a cream saree and flowers in her hair, expressing her blessing for portraying a layered character.

Allu Arjun, who won Best Actor for “Pushpa: The Rise,” noted the double achievement of winning for a commercial film. R Madhavan, director of “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” expressed his satisfaction, saying, “My God, it’s been worth it.”

National Award winners, including Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, and Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta, were seen leaving Mumbai ahead of the ceremony. Allu Arjun, SS Rajamouli, and MM Keeravaani were spotted at Delhi airport.
