‘Pratikshya’ Wins Best Odia Feature Film Award at 69th National Film Awards

Bhubaneswar: The Odia film “Pratikshya” has won the Best Odia Feature Film award at the 69th National Film Awards. The film, directed by Anupam Patnaik, was released in 2022 and stars Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, and Barsha Patnaik in lead roles. The storyline is an adaptation of a short story penned by Gourahari Das.

The film tells the story of a young man who struggles to fulfill his father’s expectations. It is a moving and heartwarming tale that has struck a chord with audiences across Odisha. The award comes with a Rajat Kamal award and a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000.

Another Odia film, “The Healing Touch”, has received a Non-Feature Special Mention award. The film, directed by Dr. Sweta Kumar Dash, is a short film that portrays the Covid-19 pandemic. It stars Gargi Mohanty and Gajendra Padhi in lead roles.
