Goa court grants 10-day police custody of 2 accused in Phogat murder case

Goa: In a development in the BJP leader and Tik Tok star Soanali Phogat murder case, a court here granted police custody of the two accused on Saturday.

The accused duo identified as the slain leader’s personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and another Sukhwinder Singh had been produced before the court by Anjuna Police.

Earlier in the day, police had detained two others, the owner of the Curlies restaurant in Anjuna, where Phogat visited last and a drug dealer in connection with the case.

Sangwan had confessed to the crime during his interrogation post arrest on Friday. Teaming up with Singh he took Phogat to Curlies on the pretext of partying on the day of the incident and drugged her drink. While the incident happened on Monday night, Phogat passed away the next morning after being taken to St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna.

The late actor was on a visit to Goa since August 22 and was staying at a hotel in Anjuna.
