6G on India’s Horizon: PM Modi Announces Task Force Setup for Next-Gen Connectivity

New Delhi: In his address on the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s rapid adoption of 5G technology and announced preparations for 6G. A dedicated task force has been established for this purpose. Notably, India has achieved nationwide 5G coverage across 700 districts. PM Modi highlighted that technology’s impact is global, with even developed nations keen on learning from India’s Digital India success.

PM Modi emphasized technology’s role in agriculture. A new scheme is underway to empower rural women through technology in farming. Thousands of self-help groups will receive drone training and equipment. The plan aims to enhance agriculture and will begin by training 15,000 women from self-help groups for drone operations.

The Prime Minister applauded India’s youth, ranking among the top three global startup ecosystems. He expressed the government’s commitment to nurturing opportunities for the youth through well-defined policies.

In the fight against corruption, PM Modi highlighted technology’s pivotal role. He observed the transformation of India’s internet landscape, with data costs significantly reduced, leading to savings for families.

PM Modi concluded by highlighting India’s readiness for quantum computers and the nation’s strides in establishing farmer-producer organizations and semiconductor manufacturing.
