Ahmedabad: A two-year-old boy was killed by a wild leopard in Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district on Monday night.
The ill-fated child, the son of one Ramesh Yadav was playing near his home in Matana village under the Veraval forest range at around 9 pm, when he was dragged away by a wild leopard.
Later his body was found in the bushes, about 500 meters from Jadhav’s house.
According to local forest officials, they have set up three cages to catch the killer leopard.
According to locals, there are three-four leopards in the area. Ten days ago, a 65-year-old woman was mauled to death by a leopard in the same area.
During the past six months, at least six people have been killed in leopard attacks in the region.
