Govt of India to Recruit Private Sector Specialists in Key Government Positions

New Delhi: The Indian government is set to recruit 20 private sector specialists on a contractual basis for important positions in 12 government departments.

This initiative, which represents the third recruitment drive of its kind, aims to leverage the expertise of private-sector professionals in public administration.

The selected departments for this lateral entry recruitment include Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Civil Aviation, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Corporate Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Heavy Industries, among others.

Interested candidates will have the opportunity to apply for these positions from May 20 to June 19, 2023. The recruitment process will be facilitated by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates will be shortlisted based on the information provided in their online applications.

This strategic move underscores the government’s commitment to modernising public administration and embracing the valuable insights and skills that private sector specialists can bring to the table. By incorporating professionals from outside traditional bureaucratic channels, the government aims to enhance efficiency, foster innovation, and promote a diverse and dynamic workforce.
