Knives That Aaftab Used To Chop Shraddha’s Body Recovered

New Delhi: Delhi police on Monday unearthed the weapons that Aaftab Poonawala had used to dismember his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar. Poonawala allegedly sliced Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces and kept them in his Mehrauli home for over three weeks.

Delhi police recovered five knives from Aaftab’s residence shortly after he was arrested. The weapons were subsequently sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to determine whether they had been used in the crime.

Additionally, Shraddha’s ring that Aaftab had gifted to another woman was also recovered by the police. Shraddha’s body parts were kept in the refrigerator while the second girl was in their apartment.

Poonawala is currently being held in Tihar Jail’s barrack number 4.

On May 18 of this year, Aftab was accused of chopping his lover into 35 pieces and disposing of her body parts in the city across 18 days, which he later confessed.

Shraddha and Aaftab were living together since 2019 after meeting on a dating platform. On May 8 of this year, they moved from Mumbai to Delhi. Aaftab allegedly killed Shraddha by strangling her and later chopped her body into 35 pieces on May 18 for “easy disposal”, he confessed.
