Goods Train Derails Near Mumbai’s Kasara Station, No Injuries Reported; Several Trains Delayed

Thane: A goods train derailment near Kasara railway station in Maharashtra on Sunday disrupted traffic on the Mumbai CSMT-Howrah and Mumbai CSMT-Adilabad Nandigram routes, according to the Central Railways. The incident occurred on the Kasara to Igatpuri downline and the middle line, impacting the movement of two mail express trains.

The Central Railways confirmed that traffic remained unaffected on the Igatpuri to Kasara upline, ensuring the smooth operation of Mumbai suburban train services.

Responding swiftly to the situation, the Central Railways deployed two accident relief trains, one from Kalyan and another from Igatpuri, to expedite restoration efforts and address the challenges posed by the derailment. The authorities are actively working to minimize the disruption to train services and prioritize passenger safety.
