Maharashtra: Over 20 Injured As Footover Bridge At Rly Station Collapses

Chandrapur (Maharashtra): As many as 20 people were critically injured on Sunday after an old pedestrian bridge collapsed at Ballarshah railway station in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district.

The incident took place while a train was approaching the station which usually sees a rush of migrant workers.

Several passengers fell from the bridge on the track from a height of about 60 feet.

Around 20 passengers were injured in the mishap of which at least eight are critical.

The injured have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Initial reports say the bridge was in a dilapidated state for a long time and the Railway authorities did not renovate it.
