Manik Saha Sworn In As Tripura CM For Second Time

Agartala: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manik Saha was administered oath as the chief minister of Tripura for the second time by Governor SN Arya on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and a host of central leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony of Saha and his council of ministers that was held at the iconic Vivekananda Stadium. PM Modi reached the venue in Agartala by 10.45 am. Along with Saha, nine other ministers were also sworn in.

The Tripura Assembly election results were announced on Thursday. The BJP won 32 seats in the 60-member House in the recent assembly elections in Tripura, while its ally IPFT (Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura) managed to secure one seat.
