MHA Issues Advisory To All States Ahead Of Hanuman Jayanti

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday issued an advisory to all the states and Union territories ahead of Hanuman Jayanti, which will be celebrated tomorrow.

“The MHA has issued an advisory to all states in preparation for Hanuman Jayanti. The governments are encouraged to ensure the maintenance of law and order, peaceful observance of the festival, and monitoring of any factors that could disturb communal harmony in society”, the ministry said in a tweet.

The home ministry’s advisory comes in wake of recent incidents of violence in some states including Bihar, Bengal and Maharashtra on the occasion of Ram Navami last week.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Police conducted flag march in Jahangirpuri area ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti. The police have denied permission to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and another group to undertake processions in the area, ANI reported. Communal clashes had erupted in this area last year on Hanuman Jayanti, injuring eight cops and a local resident.
