National Higway Construction Sees 47.85% Growth in Last 8 Years

New Delhi: According to the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, National Highway construction has increased by 47.85% during the last eight years.

According to the report, the country’s National Highway system has a total length of over one lakh 44 thousand kilometres as of November 30th, 2022, up from 97 thousand 830 kilometres in 2014–15.

According to the Ministry, during the past eight years, the pace of National Highway construction has steadily accelerated. National Highways were being built at a rate of about 12 kilometres per day in 2014–15, which grew to about 29 kilometres per day in 2021–22. Five thousand 337 kilometres of National Highways were built last year, according to the Ministry.
