Pakistani Man Who Crossed Border 10 Years Ago Seeks Permission To Stay In India

Hyderabad: A 51-year-old Pakistani man, Gulzar, who crossed over to India in 2011 to be with his Indian wife, Daulat Bi, is seeking permission from the government to stay in the country with his family.

Gulzar and Daulat met in 2010 when Gulzar misdialled a call trying to reach his friend in Hyderabad. The accidental connection led to a three-year-long relationship and eventually blossomed into love. Gulzar, who used to work in Saudi Arabia, made a daring decision to propose to Daulat and undertook the risky journey to India to be with her.

After gaining approval from Daulat’s family, the couple got married and Gulzar started a new life as a painter in Nandyal. They had four children together. However, in 2019, Gulzar was arrested by Hyderabad city police for possessing fake documents, including a counterfeit Aadhaar card and passport. After spending time in jail, he was granted bail.

Now, Daulat has petitioned the Telangana High Court to allow her husband to stay in India with their family.

Gulzar pleads with the government to permit him to stay in India, as his wife endured considerable hardship while he was in jail, and she worked hard to secure his release. They hope for a positive decision from the court that will allow them to continue their life together in India.
