PM Modi Stresses Need for Uniform Civil Code, Highlights Inconsistencies in Dual Legal Systems

Bhopal: During his visit to Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed over 1 million booth-level workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and accused the opposition of instigating people in the name of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He emphasized that running the country based on two different sets of laws was not feasible and went against the principle of equal rights enshrined in the Constitution. Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the Supreme Court’s call for the implementation of the UCC and criticized the opposition for indulging in vote bank politics.

Addressing the issue of triple talaq, PM Modi expressed concern over the grave injustice faced by Muslim daughters due to its support. He underscored the need for gender equality and the protection of women’s rights.

The event was part of the BJP’s “Mera Booth Sabse Majboot” campaign and featured the participation of 3,000 selected workers from across the country who had made significant contributions to empowering their respective booths. The interaction was broadcasted live nationwide, allowing over 1 million BJP workers to directly connect with the Prime Minister.

These dedicated workers were chosen from various states through a process defined by the party president, JP Nadda, using the Namo App. Over a period of 10 days, they will engage with booth-level BJP workers in states heading towards elections, exchanging experiences and sharing best practices. The objective is to activate and strengthen the party’s grassroots workers well in advance of the upcoming assembly elections.
