Fresh Case Against Puja Khedkar’s Father for Threatening Govt Official

Pune: Pune district police have registered a case against Dilip Khedkar, the father of former IAS trainee Puja Khedkar, for allegedly threatening and obstructing a public servant, officials reported on Friday. The complaint was lodged by a tehsildar from the Pune district collectorate at the Bundgarden police station.

According to the complaint, during Puja Khedkar’s tenure as an assistant collector, her father, Dilip Khedkar, allegedly used intimidating language toward Tehsildar Dipak Akade. He reportedly demanded that a cabin be allocated for his daughter, despite lacking authority to influence administrative decisions.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently annulled Puja Khedkar’s selection and permanently barred her from future exams due to allegations of misrepresenting information in her UPSC Civil Services Examination application. She is currently untraceable following an FIR registered against her in Delhi.

The Pune police have charged Dilip Khedkar under sections 186 (obstructing a public servant), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This case stems from an incident in June this year.

Additionally, Dilip Khedkar is involved in another legal matter related to criminal intimidation, where his wife Manorama was accused of brandishing a gun during a land dispute in Mulshi. While Dilip received anticipatory bail, Manorama was recently released on bail after her arrest by Pune rural police.
