Aap Apna Ghar Sambhaliye: Rajnath Singh Rebukes Pakistan for Its Reaction to India-US Joint Statement

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged the Pakistani government to focus on addressing internal issues rather than constantly raising the Kashmir dispute. His comments came in response to Pakistan’s reaction to a joint statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden, which called on Pakistan to prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities.

Pakistan had criticized the joint statement, considering it “unwarranted, one-sided, and misleading,” and claimed that it violated diplomatic norms by referencing Islamabad. Singh concurred with Pakistan’s assertion that India has successfully diverted international attention from Kashmir and advised the Pakistani government to concentrate on domestic affairs.

Singh highlighted the economic challenges faced by Pakistan, including severe inflation, dwindling foreign reserves, and difficulties in securing funds to avoid defaults. He also mentioned incidents of targeted attacks on minorities in Pakistan, such as the recent killing of a Sikh man in Peshawar, which was the second such attack within 48 hours.

Speaking at a National Security Conclave in Jammu, the Indian minister reaffirmed that Pakistan’s illegal occupation of a part of Kashmir does not grant it legitimacy in the region. He emphasized that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) will always remain an integral part of India.

Singh expressed confidence that the people of PoK would eventually demand to become part of India, citing the current circumstances in the region. He stated that the oppressed residents of PoK witness the peaceful lives of people on the Indian side, leading to their aspiration to be part of India.

During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United States, a joint statement was issued by India and the US condemning cross-border terrorism and urging Pakistan to take immediate action against terrorist groups operating from its territory. PM Modi also addressed the pressing danger of radicalism and terrorism in his speech to the US Congress, emphasizing the need to combat terrorism without any reservations.
