Sachin Pilot Comes Down Heavily On Ashok Gehlot, Calls Him Vasundhara Raje’s Worker

Jaipur: Former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot lashed out at Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot for his advice to Congress MLAs to return the money they allegedly received during horse trading and praised former BJP CM, saying his comments made it abundantly clear that Vasundhara Raje is his leader and not Sonia Gandhi.

Pilot remarked, “For the first time I am seeing someone criticising MPs and MLAs of his own party,” while addressing a press conference at his home. “It is beyond my comprehension that BJP politicians are praised while Congress leaders are insulted,” he added.

Pilot announced a “Jan Sangharsh Pad Yatra” from Ajmer to Jaipur to be launched on May 11 in order to raise awareness of corruption, the leak of competitive examination papers, and youth issues in the state. This is due to the fact that the chief minister has not taken action against Raje over grafts during her tenure despite his representation in this regard and a one-day maun satyagraha on April 11.

The most recent episode of Gehlot vs. Pilot brings a simmering dilemma back into the public eye that the Congress must address in an election year.

The Gehlot-Pilot conflict surfaced shortly after the Congress won the 2018 Rajasthan elections.

Pilot consented to serve as the veteran’s deputy, but in 2020, when Covid erupted globally, he rebelled. After the Gandhis promised him a solution, he terminated his strike after camping for days close to Delhi.

The revolt was put down when more than 100 MLAs opted to stick with Gehlot. Whereas Pilot has never been able to muster more than 20 MLAs in his favour.
