Sharad Pawar Reacts to Ajit Pawar Joining NDA; Labels it Individual Rebellion

Mumbai: NCP chief Sharad Pawar spoke up for the first time following Ajit Pawar’s decision to join the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra. In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier remarks about the NCP, Pawar expressed his satisfaction with his colleagues taking the oath in the NDA government.

PM Modi had said that the NCP was a “finished party” and that it was involved in corruption. Pawar said that he was “happy” that some of his colleagues had joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra, and that this showed that the charges against the NCP had been cleared.

Pawar also drew attention to the history of his party, recounting a similar situation in 1980 when many MLAs left. However, he successfully bolstered the party’s numbers and those who had deserted him ended up losing in their respective constituencies.

The NCP chief mentioned that some of his colleagues had taken a different stance, surprising him before an important meeting scheduled for July 6.

Despite the situation, Pawar received calls of support from various notable figures, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Unfazed by recent events, he plans to seek the blessings of YB Chavan, former Maharashtra CM, and hold a public meeting in the near future.
