NDA Finalises Seat-Sharing In Bihar: BJP To Contest On 17 Seats; JDU Gets 16

Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] have finalized their seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. According to the pact disclosed by BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde on Monday, the BJP will contest 17 seats while the JD(U) will vie for 16 seats. The joint press conference, comprising members of the Bihar NDA alliance, shed light on key constituencies allotted to each party.

For the BJP, crucial seats include Pashchim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Aara, Buxar, and Sasaram. On the other hand, JD(U) will focus on Valmikinagar, Sitamadhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Sheohar constituencies.

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) faction led by Chirag Paswan secured five seats, namely Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagariya, and Jamui. Notably, discussions are ongoing regarding seat-sharing with the LJP faction led by Minister Pashupati Paras, as confirmed by Bihar BJP chief Samrat Choudhary.

Additionally, the Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will contest on one seat each.

The Election Commission has announced that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in Bihar across seven phases from April 19 to June 1. Bihar will witness polling on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, with results to be declared on June 4.
