Surat Man Commits Suicide After Muslim Wife, Brother-In-Law Forcefully Feed Him Beef

Gandhinagar: A 27-year-old man, hailing from Gujarat’s Surat has committed suicide after his wife and brother-in-law who allegedly forced him to eat beef.

The deceased, Rohit Singh, in his suicide note posted on Facebook, said that his wife Sonam Ali and her brother Mukhtar Ali threatened to kill him if he did not consume beef, forcing him to take the extreme step.

Meanwhile, Surat police booked a Muslim woman and her brother for abetting the suicide.

Rohit Rajput and Sonam used to work together in Surat and that is how they met each other. Soon they fell in love with each other and wanted to get married.

However, Rohit’s family refused their relationship as Sonam belonged to a different religion. They even threatened them with breaking all ties with Rohit if he married Sonam.

Rohit’s mother registered a complaint against Sonal and her brother Akhtar Ali after the relatives revealed that Rohit posted a suicide note on Facebook just before hanging himself.
