The Resistance Front Designated As Terrorist Organization By Government

New Delhi: The Resistance Front (TRF) has been designated by the Center as a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

According to the Home Ministry, TRF is enlisting young people for its terrorist causes online. As a front group for the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, the TRF was founded in 2019.

The organisation had been involved in spreading propaganda about terrorist activities, recruiting terrorists, and aiding terrorists smuggle weapons and drugs into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan, according to a notification from the Ministry.

TRF is also indulged in psychological warfare on social media in an effort to recruit Jammu and Kashmir residents as members of terrorist organisations fighting the Indian government. Sheikh Sajjad Gul, the chief of TRF, has been designated as a terrorist, the Ministry said.
