Three Kids Drown In Hyderabad’s Patelkunta Lake

Hyderabad: Three kids drowned in Gachibowli’s Patelkunta Lake near Hyderabad on Sunday. The Gachibowli Police Inspector informed that, nine children, all Telcom Nagar residents, went swimming in Patelkunta Lake this afternoon.

The children entered the lake through a thinly-fenced section, and six of them stepped back when they saw how deep the water was. The other three kids, however, tried to swim in the deep water and as a result drowned.

“The six children backed up and went to the main road to call for assistance, but it was too late. The deceased were identified as Shabaz (14) Dileep (13) and Pavan (13),” the police officer added.

A rescue team deployed on the lake recovered all the bodies. The bodies were then sent for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
